Fast Response Vessel
CGA has four purpose-built skimming vessels capable of
operating in shallow waters (3' - 4') and the offshore/nearshore
areas. These vessels have oleophylic brush pack skimming
systems operating in troughs built into the hulls,
below deck storage, marine electronics packages including
marine, aircraft and company frequency radios, radar,
moving map plotters (GPS), satellite phone
and depth finders.

M/V Timbalier
Bay, located in Galveston, TX, M/V Grand Bay located in Venice, LA,
M/V Bastian Bay located in Lake Charles, and M/V RW Armstrong located
in Houma, LA are 46 long, have dual outrigger skimmers and cruise at 23.5 knots.
Fast Response Units
Clean Gulf Associates offers nine Fast Response Systems for attacking spills. All three models can be loaded onto a 92 to 220 foot vessel and are designed to be assembled and deployed in under one hour, with the actual overboard launch taking approximately five minutes.
FRU’s include a 100-barrel storage tank with additional storage available.
High Volume Open Sea Skimmer System (Hoss Barge)
This design is 174 feet in length and 52 feet wide. At a cost of over $5 million, HOSS is one of the most advanced long duration offshore oil spill collection system in the world. The skimmer system is built right into the hull of the barge. Skimming operations are conducted from the control room overlooking the skimmer deck. Up to 4100 barrels of recovered oil is stored in four 1,025-barrel in-hull tanks.
Shallow Water Skimmers
For shallow water such as bays, bayous, marshes and lakes, CGA has two basic models: the high speed aluminum catamaran hull, oleophylic belt skimmers and the self-propelled steel skimming barges with a high volume conveyor belt and swab system. A two to three-man crew is all that is usually necessary to operate these skimmers.
