CGA has taken delivery of two new 60’ Shallow Water Skimmers, bringing the total number to three.  These state-of-the-art vessels will be the largest shallow water equipment of their kind.  They will be propelled by three 350 HP outboard engines and are equipped with a bow thruster for easy maneuverability.  Outfitted with two bow mounted three brush Lamor skimming systems, a storage capacity of 249 barrels, and a top speed of 25 knots, these vessels will serve as the ideal platform to recover oil in the shallow water environment and areas close to shore.  The three 60’ skimmers will be located in Venice, Leeville, and Galveston.  The existing 56’ Shallow Water Skimmers will be located in Morgan City, Vermilion, Lake Charles and Aransas Pass.  This will provide much needed near shore coverage at all of our sites.
