Nearshore Boom


Type: Round Boom
Primary Use: Nearshore

Use: Containing spilled oil so that it can be recovered by skimmers. Preventing the spread of spilled oil. Precautionary measures should oil be spilled. Diverting oil and/or trash to another area. Barricading traffic or trash.

Description: A boom with foam and lead ballast, it is designed to provide containment of oil spills in nearshore waters. Normally used to concentrate oil for collection by skimmers, it can be used for deflection and exclusion booming (1,000 feet of boom per system). Oil stop boom is stored in three baskets. An anchoring system box is provided which includes anchors, buoys, rope, cables, and all necessary shackles, nuts and bolts, thimbles and hooks.
