Egmopol Shallow Water Skimmer

The Egmopol Shallow Water Skimmer is a designated oil spill recovery vessel with a single belt skimmer. It is a hydraulically powered self-propelled barge for skimming in harbors, coastal areas, rivers, and lakes. It is equipped with a high volume conveyor belt and swab system that pulls oil out of the water where it is scraped off the belt into an open top 90-barrel storage tank. Once full, the tank can be offloaded via a 827 GPM offload pump to a 249 barrel shuttle barge for disposal in accordance with an approved disposal plan.

Boom may be attached to increase the swath width and increase the encounter rate with free oil on the water’s surface. The Egmopol is stored on a flatbed trailer for rapid deployment and requires a permit for transport over the road.
